| About Dr. McCormick |
Classical Five Element Acupuncture is effective because it addresses the underlying cause of imbalance, an inherent weakness in each of us, identified as our “causative factor.” This acupuncture system approaches each patient as a unique individual, having his own set of unique clinical findings and unique “causative factor.” There are no “formulas for treatment.” Each treatment is designed specifically for each patient based on their own “causative factor” and their own underlying imbalance and emotional need. Under treatment with acupuncture, patients come into harmony from within and chronic symptoms most commonly associated with disease and aging are lessened or eliminated. As treatment progresses, a renewed sense of well-being and internal strength develops, and the daily stressors of life are handled more easily. This renewed sense of well-being springs from physiological changes that take place with acupuncture treatment. The World Health Organization recognizes over 30 conditions that may be helped with the use of acupuncture, including: Headache, migraine headache, irritable bowel syndrome, asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis, muscular pain, pain from
degenerative arthritis, temporal mandibular joint pain, Classical Five Element Acupuncture differs from other types of acupuncture both in the approach to diagnosis as well as treatment technique. If you have not had success with other types of acupuncture treatment, you may find this approach more effective. This type of acupuncture is gentle, yet extremely powerful in its effect on the body. The needles used are much smaller and finer, the needle placement more precisely controlled. Even small children can undergo this type of acupuncture treatment. The Classical Five Element approach to Chinese medicine does not employ the use of oral herbal medicines. If you are concerned about side effects of herbs or interaction of herbs with prescription medications, this type of acupuncture therapy is preferable to those types of Chinese medicine that rely heavily on the use of herbs for results. |
